I find the work of MIT professor of technology and society, Dr. Sherry Turkle, to be profoundly provocative. She challenges us to think about how we use our personal communications devices. She calls us to ponder seriously to what degree our constant use of these devices helps or hinders genuine heart-to-heart conversation. In this 2012 podcast from the TED Talks and in her most recent book, Alone Together (New York: Basic Books, 2011) , she asks, "As we expect more from technology, do we expect less from each other?"
A professor of worship, arts, & communications at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois, I will offer in this blog what treasures I may find in the course of my work, wondering, and wanderings -- and what questions they may raise for me and you!
